Coaching gives you the opportunity to inspire, develop, and support players while making a meaningful contribution to the basketball community.
Coach Uniform
Club uniforms are provided to registered coaches, ensuring everyone looks and feels part of the Palmerston Basketball Club team on game day.

Our coaches play a critical role in the success of our teams and the development of our young players.
In general, they come from among the parents of our players as well as current senior players and former players.
We are always looking for more coaches so if you are interested in becoming a coach please do not hesitate to contact Marcia Habets the Clubs Coaching and Player Development Director.
No previous basketball playing or coaching experience is required, just an interest in the game and a passion for helping our players to improve their skills.
Our coaches receive support from Marcia and other senior club coaches.

Assistant Coaching
Assistant coaching is a good way to learn the ropes from an experienced coach.
To express interest in assistant coaching, email palmerstonbasketball@outlook.com.
We ask that all of our coaches complete their Coaching Certification via BNT
There is also an introductory course, the Inclusive Coaching Course by PBTR
This free, interactive online course is aimed at community coaches. The course contains five modules:

Basketball across Australia relies on dedicated volunteers to teach people how to play and compete. We recognise the need to support these volunteers with high-quality, consistent, and accessible training. This is fundamental to the development of players, coaches, pathways in sport and of the game in Australia.

Becoming a basketball coach in Australia is simple:

Step 2: Complete your Working With Children Requirements
Your requirements will vary by State/Territory; your local association can advise you on your requirements and obligations.
Step 3: Complete an Online Coach Course
